I am a studio potter; my work is inspired by the art deco design on table wares in the 1930’s, which potters could display their colourful creation in everyday items such as dinner sets and vases. My ceramic works reflect and embody my dualities of Chinese and Australian background, which I found the unpredictable results of Marco-crystalline glazes very exciting. Most of my workers are functional wares and the porcelain clay body is better for the crystalline glazes I use. The colourful patterns and images on the wares can be used and enjoyed in domestic way.
