Any artistic endeavour is an expression of an inner reality for the artist.

Whether working through the complexities of relationships; the madness and sadness of our lives, or delving to express an inner knowing of the machinations of the universe, we strive to bring to life these sometimes ethereal thoughts and feelings.

The work I undertake attempts to make a bit of an indent into that realm; hopefully with some humour and compassion for my subject/s. I don't think I have a 'style' - I like trying something new or different, to see where that leads me. Clay can be a tricky medium and requires quite a bit of technical knowledge - but once hooked, it's hard to give it up...there's always something new to be learning.

My functional work is still an extension of this philosophy and encompasses my love of colour and form, and the influence of my natural surroundng on the NSW south coast - my deep love of this Ancient Land is a spiritual place within me.

Hopefully some pleasing object result to be taken home, used and loved (!) I thoroughly enjoy what I'm doing, and hope this joy is relected in my work and can be passed on to the viewer.
